Don’t Ignore These 4 Knee Pain Symptoms

Not all knee pain is created equal. Sometimes the pain in your knees can be temporary, due to a day of overwork and stress. Other times, your lasting knee pain could be trying to tell you it is time to seek medical attention.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, seek treatment before conditions develop or worsen.

  • Knee noises: Hearing snapping, cracking, or popping paired with pain or swelling in the knee could indicate a larger problem.
  • Pain: Pain in the knees when walking, bending, or climbing stairs are signs of arthritis. Pain or stiffness in the knees felt in the morning or after long periods of rest are another warning sign.
  • Swelling: Slight swelling may not be cause for concern but sudden, extreme swelling in the knees could be a sign that cartilage is breaking down and inflammation is beginning to set in.
  • Popping or locking: When your knee pops or locks, it can be a sign that cartilage in the joint has broken off. While this may not cause problems right away, it can have significant effects later if left untreated.

Consistent knee pain, along with any joint pain, should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible. Conditions of arthritis can develop and worsen over time if left untreated. Click here to schedule an appointment online with one of Rejuvinix’s doctors to diagnose and treat your knee pain.
